Dog Park Rufferee - Job Description
Primary Purpose: Help maintain a fun and friendly atmosphere for all our owners and their pups by keeping our dog park clean and safe, assisting dog park visitors with their needs, and building appropriate connections with our community members.
Position Type: Hourly, Part- Time 12-20 hours per week depending on availability and business volume
Essential Functions:
- Give excellent customer service to each dog owner and guest by being good hosts. This includes assisting them with entry/exiting, new dog or shy dog acclimation, potty accidents, diffusing conflict between owners, and engaging with them while they are on-site.
- Monitor interactions between dogs and continually read dog body language and 'energy' of the play space, and intervening, redirecting or ejecting dogs where necessary, and involving owners and/or Doggos management.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the space through picking up debris, cleaning after potty accidents, managing slip risks and other safety hazards, re-setting tables and seating areas as they are vacated by wiping down, removing trash, replacing chairs, etc.
- Perform janitorial duties required to keep Doggos clean and sanitizes for daily play
- Assist in the bar with member check ins, sign ups, and sales transactions as required.
- Assist with special events and private event rentals as needed, within your availability.
- Assist with additional tasks and projects as asked by management.
Physical Elements:
- Carrying & Lifting: This role involves regular carrying or lifting of items as much as 30lbs in weight, such as inventory, retail supplies, cleaning supplies, as well as moving dog park equipment, furnishings, etc.
- Standing & Walking: This role requires standing for long hours and involves mild running, walking, kneeling, and squatting, and bending over.
- Weather: This role requires you to be outdoors for long, continuous periods of time and work in an un-conditioned environment where you may be in direct sunlight and high heat, rain, cold weather, etc.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Must love dogs and helping people.
- Must be comfortable in an off-leash play setting with large numbers of dogs of varying breeds, temperaments, sizes, and energy levels.
- Must be knowledgeable about dog body language and indicators of aggression, as well as safety procedures for diffusing dog fights
- Must have good people skills, possessing the ability to build appropriate relationships with clients and foster communication between clients and Doggos
- Must be 21+ and authorized to work in the United States
Hourly Pay: $11-$12/hour depending on experience
